I am an American Indian activist, organizer, advocate, educater, and writer. For my whole adult life, I have worked to address the issues fundamentally important to American indian people and communities. I have served as an "expert witness" in American indian lawsuits pursuing religious freedom, and advocated for indian families and children, particularly in regard to school district mascots and restrictions on religious freedom. I have worked with American Indian inmates in both state and federal penitentiaries, helped write legislation pertaining to Indian people, and lobbied to help create state Indian commissions. As a writer I have been published in several books, including CHILDREN OF THE DRAGONFLY, (Arizona press), TERRORISTS OR FREEDOM FIGHTERS? (Lantern books), and HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF LEONARD PELTIER LATELY (HYT press); I have written articles and opinion/editorials which have appeared in most major publications and newspapers-both here and abroad, and have served on the editorial boards of DARK NIGHT FIELD NOTES and TANASI JOURNAL.
